Despite the tech surge, students in the humanities shouldn’t feel obsolete. In fact, the singularity may elevate their importance. As AI shapes everything from law to art, we’ll need people to ask the why, not just the how. Philosophers, ethicists, historians, and linguists will help society navigate the consequences of automation. Who decides how AI is used? What stories are told? Who gets excluded? These are human questions, not technical ones. Students in liberal arts must embrace AI as a tool to enhance their impact—not fear it. The future needs thinkers, not just coders.
